Healthy Dinner at Loid Vegetarian and Raw Food Resto

It was already 8 PM when the movie Zero Dark Thirty finished in the movie theatre of Robinsons Puerto Princesa, Palawan. I was hungry and was not in the mood for something inside the mall. I went out and thought of my options as I had to be in San Jose Terminal by 9:30 PM for the night trip to El Nido, Palawan. That’s when I thought of dining at Loid Vegetarian and Raw Food Resto.

I rode a multicab going to San Jose, told the driver to drop me of at DCRM, paid 8 Pesos and after 3 minutes I was there.

Wanting to try something different from my previous visit I decided to go for their Stir-Fry Eggplant with Tomato and Onion Rice Topping (70 Pesos). The staff said that I could request it to be spicy or not, depending on what I want. I said “non-spicy please”. Then I looked at their Drinks Menu and found the Mango-Malunggay Smoothie (70 Pesos) interesting and ordered it.

The staff and a couple of foreigners were having a nice smiling conversation, it was not long before I got in the exchange of topics. An American couple then invited me to dine with them on their table, and since I was alone I said yes and moved to their table. We had a fun conversation while our food was being served.

First came my Mango-Malunggay Smoothie. I was surprised that the shake was colored green (I was expecting it to be yellow with tid bits of green indicating the malunggay). I sipped on the white bendable straw and it was good. I was not in the mood for something sweet and I’m glad that they used unripe mango for the shake. Its sourness was just right too. The amount of malunggay leaves was able to neutralize some of the sourness of the unripe mango making the right amount of sweetness and sourness. Giving also the green coloring of the Mango-Malungay Smoothie.

I am a fan of the eggplant and that’s the reason why of all the options in their menu I chose the Stir-Fry Eggplant with Tomato & Onion. When it came, it was served with a healthy cup of Red Rice. The mix of Eggplant, Tomato and Onions were shining from the flourescent light. According to their staff they only use coconut oil. It was good and savory. The only regret I made was that I wished I said yes for it to be spicy but requested not too much. I was in the mood for something slightly spicy that night.

It was a good healthy meal with great folks. Definitely, I’ll dine at Loid Vegetarian and Raw Food Resto for their great dishes and friendly staff.

Note: They are now changing their name to LC’s Gourmet Resto.

Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Fillet Sandwich

Everytime I went to Wendy’s it has been my staple order to get Spicy Chicken Fillet Sandwich. Just last night I get to try it again.

Wendy's Spicy Chicken Fillet Sandwich

It was served on a foil covered paper covering. Before the wrapping was just like the ordinary burgers. Nothing shiny. Just plain old white wrapper. But through the years I saw the wrapping evolve. On my preference, I still prefer the old wrapping than the new shiny one. But this post is not about its wrapper.

I love the Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Fillet Sandwich because of two things. One is the Spicy Chicken Fillet, just the right amount of spicyness that would not activate my sweat glands to overdrive. Two is the tomato and lettuce, which adds flavor and juicyness to the sandwich. A little addition of healthiness too.

Wendy's Spicy Chicken Fillet Sandwich Meal with Biggie French Fries and Softdrink

A good combo for the Spicy Chicken Fillet Sandwich are French Fries and Coke or Iced Tea. This combo costs 155 Pesos per order. But since I’m now a grown man from the time I first ate this meal, I now order the Biggie Size Combo. The only downfall of the big size is the price. To Go Biggie, one must pay an additional 57 Pesos. And if you want to have Iced Tea, then you’ll have to pay another additional 15 Pesos. That’s a total of 72 Pesos!

Wendy's French Fries

O well, I’ll just take it all out on the ketchup on my french fries. I had 8 ketchups! 😀
