I never paid much attention to Heramis Lechon during my month long stay here in El Nido, Palawan since I know it would be too much to eat a whole roasted chicken. But after days and days of eating pork and fish, I was finally craving for chicken.
I went to Hermis Lechon thinking that I would end up eating a whole chicken. It turns out that they have meals with rice that is good for 1 person.
I ordered their Chicken Barbecue (75 Pesos/piece) and 2 cups of rice (15 Pesos/cup). And since I was in the mood for sugary drinks I also ordered coke in can (35 Pesos/can).
We went to Midtown Bakery when were looking for a simple bread for our stay in our accommodation in El Nido, Palawan. We saw on their glass container that they have different sorts of baked goodies, from donuts, to egg pies, to pandesal, etc. but what really got my interest was the Blueberry Muffin. It was not in the usual bakery around the Philippines.
So for variety we order 4 pieces of Blueberry Muffin at 15 Pesos each. It was only as big as the muffin in Kenny Roger’s Roasters and I could see myself finishing it with just 4 bites. So they packed what we ordered in a plastic bag and off we went to our lodge.
While working, I quickly took a bit of the Blueberry Muffin and to my surprise it was really good. It had the perfect mix of blueberry and dough. I could taste the blueberry and could feel its gooey texture. It was also a little bit chewy and a little bit moist, just the way I like my muffin to be.
Would I recommend it? YES! YES! YES! When we went back to Midtown Bakery the next day, there were only 8 pieces left and we were the ones who made the Blueberry Muffin sold out that time.
