I did not always liked the Choco Butternut donut of Dunking Donuts. When I was still a child, I always preferred the usual chocolate filling on top donut. But as I grew older I became accustomed to the taste of the Choco Butternut to the point that it became my favorite donut.
I remember when donuts were still 10 Pesos each and was smaller in size. When Gonuts Donuts and Krispy Kreme came, size became a matter. But I think I also grew that’s why the small size donut was no longer sufficient for my craving. That may be the reason why I shyed away from my favorite donut and tried the more expensive ones.
When I learned that Dunkin Donuts introduced a bigger donut, though twice the previous price (20 Pesos each) I tried tasting again the not so sweet chocolate donut covered with an orange sprinkle of buttery nuts.
I’m writing this now at the Dunking Donut branch of Puerto Princesa, palawan and I’m enjoying the nostalgic taste of two Choco Butternut donuts. A definite much affordable option with good taste.
